Henry Threadgill and Ensemble Zooid February 6, 2009

Composer, multi-instrumentalist and bandleader Henry Threadgill has been a seminal figure in the vanguard of contemporary instrumental music since the early 1970s and is known for being one of the great musical masterminds of the past quarter century -- a composer, arranger, and innovator who transcends genres in contemporary music. Zooid is Henry's first all acoustic band since The Sextet, and his first band since X-75 which has focused so heavily on strings.
