Anniversary Sale: Gallery Artists & Consignments in the Side Gallery

ArtZone 461 Gallery is pleased to announce a two-person show in the main space for Heidi McDowell and husband Jon McNeal’s recent and new, respectively, paintings and photographs, titled ‘Territories’. The smaller, side gallery features works by gallery artists created prior to ArtZone’s opening on Valencia St. four years ago and older consignments of historic bay area artists at reduced prices.

This is ArtZone 461 Gallery’s first photography exhibition. In a move that demonstrates the Gallery’s commitment to expand our program, we are excited to be exhibiting photographs by Jon McNeal. This show also represents the first in a series of ‘Couples’ Shows that will continue throughout 2013.

Jon McNeal has photographed scenes of nature and urbanism throughout North America and Europe for over 20 years.  His education as an architect first introduced him to the relationships between science, nature, urbanism and art, and continues to inform his photographic explorations.  He lives and works as a photographer and architect in San Francisco.

Although all work presented is shot digitally, any and all image modifications are limited to effects that can be achieved in a traditional film darkroom such as spot removal, exposure, color balance and contrast adjustments.

Heidi McDowell participated in ArtZone’s first Introductions show in 2010 and later that year had a solo show in the side gallery. Last year she had a very successful solo show in the main gallery. This year we are happy to present some of McDowell’s new and recent paintings along with her husband Jon McNeal’s photographs in this two-person show in the main space.

Heidi is from Texas and received in 1997 her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and Art cum laude from Rice University, Houston Texas. She and Jon enjoy road trips together and gather source materials and inspiration for future projects.
