Hearts on Fire Tour Ft. Micah and Alex & Janel July 16, 2010

Join us for an evening of up and coming singer-songwriters led by two headlining acts, Micah, and Alex & Janel. This show will include appearances by several local special guests, including Ryan Schmidt.

Micah, a singer-songwriter originally from Rochester, NY, brings out a catchy sincerity into his songs. They’re colored by his contrasting sense of dynamics and emotive lyrics. He has recently released his new album, Micah Coast to Coast, on iTunes, as he tours the East coast.

The debut recording of Alex Brumel and Janel Elizabeth, The Mill Stone, features originals by both Brumel and Elizabeth arranged for a variety of musicians, from acoustic duets with a cellist to full-band performances. Combine this recording with Alex Brumel’s third solo release, To Bring You Home (produced by drummer/writer Eric Novod and featuring ex-Bob Dylan multi-instrumentalist David Mansfield) and Janel Elizabeth’s debut jazz EP, Live at Ronnie Scott's, and the two are ready to embark on a musical journey that is bound to turn heads and raise eyebrows. Perhaps Alex says it best: “Really, we’re just excited about what we’ve stumbled upon here, and in our own small way, we think we have something new and important to say. We just hope people enjoy it as much as we do.”

Ryan Schmidt just completed his debut full-length album "Black Sheep, Run" at Q Division Studios. His music blends the lyricism and heart of sixties folk with the eclectic and conceptual styling’s of contemporary indie-rock. Local and national musicians have taken notice and guests on the album include producer/bassist Ed Valauskas (The Gravel Pit, Eli “Paperboy” Reed, Howie Day), drummer Steve Scully (James Taylor, Lori McKenna), guitarist Aaron Tap (Matt Nathanson), and pianist Phil Aiken (Buffalo Tom, Will Dailey) among others.
