Healthy Fun for Adults and Children at the
Miami Florida Blue Center’s October Weekly Wellness Events

WHAT: The Miami Florida Blue Center invites Miami-Dade residents to their October Weekly Wellness Events. Themed around family eating and exercising, these free events are open to the community and provide healthy, safe tips for all ages.

Plus, all Floridians, whether a BCBSF member or not, can receive the seasonal flu /H1N1 vaccine for $15 or less* starting October 1 through November 20 (while supplies last). The Miami Florida Blue center will be offering flu shots from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, while supplies last. Individuals must be 4 years or older to receive a flu shot. Exact times for the flu shot will vary by location, and the schedule for each center can be found at www.floridablue.com.

• Saturday, October 9, 3:00 p.m. “Eat This, Not That!” – Learn about healthy choices when eating out. Adapted from the book Eat This, Not That! (Rodale Press), this presentation is full of great tips you won’t want to miss.

• Saturday, October 16, 4:00 p.m. “Cancer Prevention” – Join us for a special cancer presentation by Drs. Paul and Craig Fisher of Fisher Chiropractic Center.Discover the natural wellness approach to lowering your risk and possibly preventing cancer.

• Saturday, October 23, 3:00 p.m. “Baby on Board” – You’re expecting but are not quite sure what to expect. Join our experts as they share the insider information to pregnancy and child birth. Learn what to plan for and where to go for the best guidance along the way.

• Saturday, October 30, 3:00 p.m. “Halloween Safety” – Keep your Halloween fun for everyone by following a few, simply safety rules. Review safety tips for the whole family PLUS receive a special trick-or-treat gift from our presenter.

Get active with Florida Blue Thursdays, October 7th, 14th and 21st, 8:30 a.m. “October Fitness Series” – Join our experts as we preview everything from Zumba to yoga. Come ready to get moving—this special series is about interaction, not just education. Hands-on and results driven, this is your chance to try something new!

* Non-BCBSF members will be able to receive the seasonal flu/H1N1 shot for $15. BCBSF members who do NOT have wellness benefits within their plan will also qualify to receive the seasonal flu/H1N1 shot for $15. BCBSF members that have wellness benefits will be given the shot at no charge.
