The 1st annual Healthy Families Expo is happening in Brentwood Saturday, November 13, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at 3101 Balfour Road (Shops at Fairview). The event offers one-stop resources for families in the East County area. The free expo will offer a wide variety of ways to improve your overall health, with free workshop sessions, health screenings, whooping cough vaccine clinic, local vendor booths, and hands-on activities for the whole family.
Moms, dads, grandparents and children are encouraged to come. This day is designed to encourage individuals and families to embrace a life of health and wellness.
The free event will showcase a large array of information, ideas, and wellness activities for the whole family. We're opening up the Expo to those who want to learn fun and creative ways to keep your family active. We're showcasing everything from parent and baby tumbling classes, to relaxing massages, and fun tips for going "green" with your family.
Entrepreneur Kristi Ortiz came up with the idea when she realized how much a one-stop shop for information and ideas for maintaining a healthy family would offer to the community. We're bringing together easy healthy cooking ideas, educational toys, pre- and post-natal fitness experts, specialty services, money saving energy services and toxin-free household products," said Kristi Ortiz, coordinator of Healthy Families Expo.
The free event is geared towards educating the whole family in nutrition, organic living, and financial wellbeing. Enjoy the collaborative efforts of Sutter Delta, John Muir, The Little Gym, local businesses and wonderful ways to improve your family's health in mind, body and spirit. This Expo is the perfect place to find the resources available to families of all ages and stages! Healthy Families Expo understands the challenges in sustaining a healthy lifestyle and invite you to come out and see for yourself fun and creative ways to keep the whole family healthy!
