Does scent defy design? Parsons The New School for Design and the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) will explore this question when they present HEADSPACE, a daylong symposium exploring scent as design. The event brings together leading designers, scholars, scientists, artists, and perfumers including Carlos Benaim, Anna Barbera, Sissel Tolaas, Ayse Birsel, Sylvia Lavin, Leslie Vosshall, Toshiko Mori, Susana Soares, Jean-Louis Frechin, Adam Bly, Bibi Seck, Zoe Coombs, David Boira, Majora Carter, Marije Vogelzang, and Chandler Burr.
HEADSPACE celebrates the establishment of the MFA in Transdisciplinary Design at Parsons, and was conceived by Paola Antonelli, senior curator in the Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA; Jamer Hunt, chair of the MFA program; Laetitia Wolff, founder of futureflair.
