The tall ship Hawaiian Chieftain will visit Redwood City for nine days, arriving at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, at the Port of Redwood City.
During its stay, the ship will offer walk-on tours, three-hour public sails, and host educational programs for local schools. The crew, dressed in period costumes, will greet guests for walk-on tours from 4 to 5 p.m. Feb. 23, 24 and 25, and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27 and 28. A $3 donation is suggested.
On Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27 and 28, the ship will take guests on three-hour adventure tours. Tickets are $55 for adults; $45 for students, active military, and seniors; and $35 for children under 12. To purchase tickets, call 800-200-5239.
The Hawaiian Chieftain is a replica of a European merchant trader from the turn of the 19th century. The steel-hulled vessel is 103 feet long, and the main mast is 75 feet off the water.
