The plural of Haiku is Haiku.

So says author of "Haunted by Haiku," Tatum Crawford, who celebrates the release of her first published work at Caribbean Soul restaurant in Brooklyn on Saturday, June 18th from 5 – 8pm.

After immigrating to the United States from her native Guyana, Tatum focused primarily on her education, but writing has always been her first love. After receiving a bachelor’s degree in legal studies from St. Johns University, she began to focus on performance art, dabbling in acting and modeling before discovering New York City’s poetry community. She found that she had a passion, as well as a natural talent for performing arts and begin to share her work at open mics throughout the city. Tatum has become quite a sensation due to her haunted haiku performances. Her confidence, wit and artistry are clearly displayed with a poignancy of one who is clearly not a novice.

Tatum’s Haunted by Haiku book signing and poetry open mic will be hosted by John “Chance” Acevedo, and there is no cover charge for the event. Caribbean Soul is located at 920 Fulton Street between Washington and St. James in the Clinton Hill section of Brooklyn and serves a delicious combination of Caribbean and soul food and features live musicians on Fridays and Saturdays.
