Did you know that one of the first apples grown and named in this country is the Roxbury Russet, named in the early 1600's in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and that the famous Johnny Appleseed was from Leominster, Massachusetts? Inspired by Eden Ross Lipson's book, "Applesauce Season", we'll be in the kitchen and on the trail to savor and enjoy apples. We'll prepare apple snacks and walk to Habitat's apple trees to look for signs of fall. Your family will decorate apple recipe cards to take home, including an applesauce recipe. Registration is required. Call 617-489-5050 for details. See http://www.massaudubon.org/catalog/listing.php?program_code=1258-HA10FA1 for more information.
