Directed by Masaki Kobayashi, this drama tells the story of a 17th-century samurai who seeks admittance to a feudal house in order to commit ritual suicide. Once there, though, he learns of the terrible fate of his son-in-law, and sets out to avenge him. This screening is part of Ursinus' International Film Festival.
