'Good Neighbours' campaign
Public Meeting / Surgery
Hanover Centre
Sat 5 July
11-12pm – Councillor’s advice surgery, for individual issues
12.15-1.30pm Meeting
In our last Councillors' Ward newsletter, we suggested the launch of a 'Respect Your Neighbours' campaign and asked residents to contact us if they thought it might be a good idea for residents to work together on this. (We've since changed the name to a 'Good Neighbours' campaign.)
We've had lots of emails subsequent to the newsletter article; many of them about the problems of noise related to student/shared housing next door. We also know from our surgeries that noise on the street, outside pubs/venues and during the night as people make their way home can be a problem.
The article clearly hit a nerve with people in this area, so we've decided to hold an advice surgery and open meeting to discuss the extent of the problem and the way forward.
This meeting will give you a chance to tell your ward councillors about the issue’s you are facing in the area, and also chat with other residents to discuss the nature/extent of the problem and the way forward for solutions and for residents to make their voices heard both individually and collectively/ as a basis for community action.
We will also have an advice surgery for individual cases.
We would very much welcome you there and for your input/ideas on the day.
Please also forward to any other residents who you think would like to come and contribute.
We'll be producing a poster very soon, and if you think you could display one locally, please let us know, and we’ll get one to you. We'll also try to display it in local shops and pubs.
