Handi Quilter Educational Event - The Quilt Corner May 31, 2012

We are priviledged and excited to announce we will be having Handi Quilter Educator, Mary Krapil, coming to The Quilt Corner to present two all day seminars. Mary Beth has been an avid sewer since childhood. She has taught quilting and piecing classes since 1998. In 2004 she bought an HQ Sixteen to finish her own quilts. She wanted to keep exclusive artistic ownership of the quilts she had pieced and give her quilts “personality” through quilting. Mary Beth's quilts have won awards at AQS Paducah, MQS and Road to California, as well as many local shows in Florida. She has quilts published in national magazines as well as having the honor of quilting quilts included in published books. Mary Beth's goal is to share her knowledge and passion for quilting. She loves to teach the basics to new quilters and also enjoys introducing new techniques and ideas to experienced quilters. She's an HQ Pro-Stitcher expert and has fun sharing the joys of computerized quilting and digitizing. HQ Pro-Stitcher Basics and Beyond • Thursday, May 31st at 9:00 a.m. If you own a HQ Pro-Stitcher or are thinking about adding a Pro-Stitcher to your system – this class is for you! Mary Beth guides you through the easy process of manipulating and quilting designs. Learn tips and tricks to work HQ Pro-Stitcher magic on your quilts. HQ Pro-Stitcher Intermediate • Thursday, May 31st at 1:00 pm A wonderful class for the confident beginner HQ Pro-Stitcher user. Mary Beth will guide you through using two-point rotation, crop, follow and the best way to accurately position your designs. She’ll show you how easy it is to find a new start point after you run out of bobbin thread or if your thread breaks. Getting Started with Art and Stitch • Friday, June 1st at 9:00 a.m. Art and Stitch is an amazing, powerful, user friendly digitizing and quilt layout software. Mary Beth will give you a great introduction to creating unique designs simply and easily (even if you can't draw!). Though not necessary, if you have a laptop with Art and Stitch loaded, feel free to bring it to follow along. Art and Stitch Magic • Friday, June 1st at 1:00 p.m. Mary Beth will go beyond the basics and teach you fun and amazing ways to digitize new and unique designs for your quilts. Familiarity with the Art and Stitch tools will be helpful to get the most from this class. Bring your laptop with Art and Stitch loaded (trial version is OK, but you wont't be able to save what you create).
