Friendly Free-motion” Seminar with Joyce Oberle, Scott Noble, and a host of companies led by Handi Quilter, Bernina, and Janome. It’s going to be fun!
Starting at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 30th and continuing through Saturday, March 31st, we will have, on hand, all the sit-down, stand-up, and free motion machines up and running for you to learn all you can on how to master the final aspect of making that “perfect” quilt; the finishing free-motion stitches that put it all together. This two day seminar will have you develop a beautiful sampler quilt complete with your own “shadow boxed” collections of the many free-motion techniques that Joyce will be teaching over the two day period. We’ll take care of everything; lunch on both days, all the supplies, everything**. All you have to do is pay the class fee of $69.95 for Long Arm Club Members, or a $99.95 fee for regular participants. Here’s what will happen:
Joyce will lead us through the basics of thread selection, proper machine use and trouble-shooting, and “Loading up” your quilt with a plan on how to best go from beginning to end in creating the finished product. You’ll learn basic free-motion skills, ruler use, marking techniques with stencils, and how to “drive” your quilt to completion. You will be trying out all the tools we have here at SewVac Ltd. to make this happen in a most “Friendly” fashion with the 8 series Bernina machines, the Handi Quilter Sweet Sixteen & Avante machines, and the Janome Horizon 12” “Mid Arm” machines. Come and learn, then take “command” of your new found free-motion abilities to make your quilt “all the way.”
We will be taking a limited number of signups so be sure to mark the dates and sign up as soon as possible. Nothing beats quilting like “Friendly Free-motion" with friends at SewVac Ltd.
**We'll provide you with your own spiral bound sketch pad so that you can collect your own free motion patterns.
