Halloweenparties.com: Pranna Halloween Party 2009
Located across the street from The Carlyle, Pranna isn't exactly in what one might call a hopping neighborhood yet based on the massive 15,000-square-foot tri-level, loungy spot you'd think you were in the meatpacking district. However, unlike Buddakan, Buddha Bar, STK, and the likes there's isn't anything all that special about Pranna's décor. Yes it's chic, and the little nooks and alcoves are cute for dates and groups of girls, but there's no jaw-dropping oomph to this spot. They're three bars in the space and drinks go for $12 -- our favorite, the Emerald Bay, is made with Sonnema Herb Vodka and St. Germain elderflower liquor, green tea, and fresh lemon juice. In the lounge area small Southeast Asian eats are served ranging in price from $6-10 while the dining area serves-up appetizers priced between $9-14 and entrees $18-32. As for the crowd it's a mixed bag of old, young, and business and no surprise given the size of this space, but don't expect a tough time when it comes to nabbing a table.
