The Willowbrook Ballroom will host a special evening of Halloween ghoulishness, including swing dancing to a live band, The Gina Knight Orchestra, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 26. A complimentary swing dancing lesson will take place from 7:30 – 8:30 p.m., immediately followed by open dancing. (Who knows…there may be a sighting of Willowbrook Ballroom’s resident ghost Resurrection Mary!)
Prizes will be awarded for the most “Killer” Halloween costume. Vintage swing outfits are always encouraged, but for the Halloween party, any type of costume is welcome! Fifty dollars will be awarded for the most creative costume, $50 for the funniest costume, $50 for the sexiest costume and $100 for the best couple costume.
Admission is $15 at the door or for those with a high school or college I.D., $12. Singles and couples of all ages are invited.
Founded in 1921, the Willowbrook Ballroom proudly bears the distinction of being one of only five ballrooms of its magnitude remaining in the United States that is still committed to dancing.
