Every single day in 2009, Mass Audubon South Shore Sanctuaries educator John Galluzzo took a walk for at least a half an hour. For 290 of those days, he did so in a different place on the South Shore, and for 70 more he walked in places from New Brunswick to Lake Tahoe. Along the way, he tallied the birds, reptiles, amphibians, and even the number of people he said hello to. He walked through rain, through snow, through blazing sun. Was it worth it in the end? Join him for a visual romp through 2009 and the special places of the South Shore. Copies of his new book, Half an Hour a Day: An Obsessive Exploration of the Nature of the South Shore of Boston, will be available for signing. Refreshments will be served. Registration is required.
