Habitat for Humanity 2 x 4 Citywide Fundraiser! December 13, 2008

Habitat needs 81 event volunteers on December 13!

We have a very exciting announcement to make in regards to our 2 x 4 fundraising event. Each year, we attempt to hold at least (1) 2 x 4 fundraising event. This year, we have decided to have a 2 x 4 blowout fundraiser by holding them at multiple locations in one day.

The 2 x 4 fundraiser is a unique way to raise money for our affiliate. Using 2 x 4 s donated by Lowes, we set up tables in front of retail locations. For any donation amount, visitors can sign the 2 x 4 and write a personal message to the next Habitat family. The 2 x 4 will be used in the construction of the next Habitat home.

Last year, we raised over $450 in one day, with just one fundraiser. This year, we have 9 scheduled so far to take place on the same day.

The date is Saturday, December 13. The events begin at 9am and end at 5pm. We are asking that each volunteer sign up for at least one shift, which is 3 hours. If you would like to work more than one shift, feel free to sign up for additional ones.

We need a total of 81 volunteers for that day so far. Without your help, we cannot pull off this wonderful event and raise money to build additional homes for low-income families. This event is great for all ages - children under the age of 15 should have a guardian present to supervise them. Anyone under the age of 18 will require a liability waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.
