H.B. Beverly returns to Bristol to play benefit concert for local animal rescue group…
Bristol, TN/VA - What do you get when you mix good music, good food, good friends, and a good cause? One heck of a good party!
And you won’t want to miss this one. H.B. Beverly will be back in town on June 13th, playing a benefit concert at Boone Lake for Siberian Husky Assist of Bristol. He’ll be teaming up with Lakeview Marina’s Marker 2 Grille for “Tails from Margaritaville”, a night of island-style entertainment and prize giveaways.
For those of you who remember H.B., no introduction is necessary. And for those of you who don’t…well you’re in for a treat. He gained “local legend” status in the Tri-Cities area several years back, before moving on to a beachier climate. He now plays regularly at Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville in South Carolina.
It’s been almost 5 years since H.B. has entertained the Tri-Cities and long-time fans are thrilled to have him back. The first annual “Tails from Margaritaville” kicks off at 7:00 p.m., with doors opening at 6:00. This gives party-goers a chance to mingle and enjoy good food and beverages on the open-air deck overlooking Boone Lake.
This is what H.B. has to say about the worthy cause he'll be supporting...
"First of all, I want to thank Allan and Sharon from Siberian Husky Assist for all their tireless and enthusiastic work in putting this fundraiser together. They've been great friends, as well as fans of my music over the years, and have asked me to come aboard as their featured entertainment for the First Annual “Tails from Margaritaville” fundraiser for the Siberian Husky Rescue Shelter of the Tri-Cities.
It's a real honor for me to be able to come back to my former home, and lend my support to this much needed, humane service for the community. This group goes out and saves targeted Siberian Huskies, as well as other breeds of dogs from being put down and destroyed. When I look into the eyes of my mixed terrier, I know for sure that these dogs have souls, and feelings just like us. I don't know what I'd have done without mine these past four years... They're literally man's best friend and confidant, and it's up to us to do our part to make their world a safer place to live, in return for the love and companionship they so eagerly give every day.
This will be my first time playing a show where everyone in the Tri-Cities can come and see me since the summer of 2005. I've really missed seeing all my old friends, and I feel like I've improved my performing skills a lot since then. I'm asking all my past fans, friends, and people I've played for and with, to come out and visit with me, and be a part of this great cause.
I'm gonna be playing MY tail off that night, and you don't want to miss Tails from Margaritaville!"
Ticket packages are being pre-sold for the event and seating is limited, so you’ll want to reserve yours early. (No tickets will be sold at the door.) For your $20 donation, you will receive entry into the concert, a commemorative t-shirt, Hawaiian flower lei, a pair of retro sunglasses, and a raffle ticket. So gather your friends and come party with the big dogs!
One lucky person will walk away with a flat screen TV, and numerous other prizes will be given away throughout the evening. A local representative for Landshark Brewing Company will be on hand as well, with all sorts of cool freebies.
All proceeds from the concert will go to Siberian Husky Assist, a not-for-profit animal rescue group operating in the Tri-Cities area. With emphasis on saving homeless Huskies, their focus is shifting toward now being able to help all animals in need, by assisting other specialty animal rescue groups. This Husky rescue, made up entirely of volunteers, is developing plans for a local sanctuary project to benefit all breeds, including special needs dogs. With your support, they can continue to expand and develop in this new direction, broadening their rescue efforts to reach more animals.
