This Mother’s Day weekend, gather the family and come to Gwinnett Place for an exciting afternoon that will entertain children and parents alike. On Saturday, May 7, Children’s Festival attendees will be able to sample delicious food from Mega Mart and enjoy lively entertainment from the Taiwanese School of Atlanta Drum Team and Tiger Martial Arts Karate as well as fashion shows featuring stylish looks for kids from Happy Land and Gymboree. Children will receive fun designs from a balloon artist and enjoy other games and activities.
Children’s Day is celebrated on different days throughout the year in countries across the globe, and is celebrated in many Asian nations, including South Korea and Japan, each year. The day is traditionally one spent with family – what better way than enjoying Gwinnett Place’s festival?
Still looking for that perfect gift for Mom? Mega Mart is hosting a cake decorating station; for $5, kids (and parents) can exercise their artistic side by decorating a personal-sized cake. Flippity Doo Da will also be on hand offering their fantastic flip books for only $5. Capture memories from the day in a special photo collection for Mom.
Also on May 7, Gwinnett Place’s Simon Kidgits Club will present the 6th Annual Kidgits Face of Gwinnett Place contest. Kidgits Face of Gwinnett is a model search contest for three children to participate in exciting activities and serve as mall ambassadors throughout the year! Additionally, the winners’ pictures will be placed on display at Simon Guest Services and at Simon Kidgits events. The Face of Gwinnett contest will be held on the mall’s lower level in front of Mega Mart, with registration and interviews between 2 - 5 p.m.
