SAN DIEGO GULUWALK FOR NORTHERN UGANDA!

Registration for the 2009 GuluWalk has officially begun! Already more than 70 cities have signed up to host walks on October 24th, 2009. Walkers around the world, from Beijing and Taipei to Amsterdam and Toronto, will participate. GuluWalk began in 2005 with the steps of just two people and has grown into an international movement for peace and justice in war-ravaged northern Uganda. This year San Diego can help a community rebuild.

GuluWalk is responding to a call from local leaders in northern Uganda to provide a future for its children and a beacon of hope for the community in the shape of an arts and cultural center which will help bring the community together and engage youth.

GuluWalk will help raise funds and awareness for this purpose.

Registration is at www.guluwalk.com or www.cegun.org.

San Diegans are encouraged to join Ugandan refugees, “Aztecs for Africa“, “Alliance for African Assistance” and “The Campaign to End Genocide in Uganda…Now!” (Cegun) for an afternoon of African music, dance and celebration in vibrant Balboa Park.

Time and location: 1:00pm Saturday Oct 24 in Balboa Park at 6th and Laurel

Registration: www.cegun.org or www.guluwalk.com
