A Revolutionary War battlefield is a great place to visit if you really want to appreciate what Independence Day is all about. Come and commemorate our nation`s independence on the Revolutionary War battlefield of Guilford Courthouse. Two of North Carolina`s signers of the Declaration of Independence are buried in the park.
Beginning at 11:30 the Guilford Courthouse Fife and Drum Corps will perform 18th century martial music at the signers` grave and monument. Immediately following, at noon, there will be a brief commemorative ceremony. An 18th century militia muster will be re-created, and there will be demonstrations of period weapons and equipment at Tour Stop 6.
