One of the world’s most revered ensembles, the Guarneri String Quartet marks its farewell season in 2008-2009, and its forty-third at the Metropolitan Museum. Four programs present the essential Guarneri—Bartok, Debussy, Haydn, Mendelssohn, Mozart, and Schubert—and for its final New York appearance on May 16, the quartet, will perform a quintet joined by its original cellist, David Soyer.
