Announcing open training/play on Friday evenings with coach Lewis Robinson, staff coach of the Georgetown Rangers Soccer Club.
Location: Rangers complex of 28th Ave.
Date/Time: Every Friday, 6:30 - 8:00 PM
The sessions are at no cost for current Rangers players.
These sessions are open for non-Ranger players at the cost of $10.00 per training.
The first half hour consists of structured technique training and the final hour we will open the fields and let the players play small sided games. Teams will have a variety of ages and abilities, no referees will be present.
Our goal is to create an extra opportunity to play without a rigid structure of rules and regulations. This concept is an attempt to re-create the "street-soccer" as being played in many countries all over the world. Let players play with friends of different ages and abilities without interference of a coach. Players will learn to play with each other, to stand up for themselves (call fouls, out of bounce, etc), to tolerate other players thoughts and actions and to correct other players thoughts and actions. Players will not be corrected by any coach and are free to express their own individuality and creativity within the context of the game. Players are free to sit out or take a time-out if they feel the need for this.
