Group 5 Open Studios at Lizland October 24, 2008

Lizland, the creative haven of sculptor and painter Liz Mamorsky, will showcase her work and that of four other outstanding artists for this year's Open Studios. Known simply as Group 5, the five artists present recent work in a wide range of mediums, including cast concrete sculpture, found-object sculpture, painting, drawing, and large-scale photographs.

The Group 5 show at Lizland is comprised of the artists Grayson Malone, Paul Baker, Liz Mamorsky, Lynn Friedman, and Daniel Newman showing sculpture, painting and photography.

The studio, tucked away on an historic alley in the South of Market neighborhood between 8th & 9th Sts. and Folsom & Howard, sports a colorful facade that hints at the beehive of creativity within. Formerly a sand-blasting facility, the split-level space features a tool-filled work area, serene gallery, skylights, and even a pocket-sized rooftop patio.
