Intrigued by the tools of the built environment, large scale sculptor Arny Nadler utilizes bundles of rebar to construct a site-specific piece that will sprawl across the landscape and penetrate the earth like a three-dimensional drawing. Inspired to work with rebar as a material normally relegated to a hidden substructure, this installation presents the material out of its usual context in a setting contrasting its intended use. Viewers are encouraged to walk the sculptures meandering path, observing its twists, curves, and voids as it interacts with the front lawn of the Evanston Art Center.
