A charismatic live performer, Montclair groove artist Caté has held a residency at the legendary world music venue SOB?s (Sounds of Brazil) in Manhattan. He has been a local favorite with his performances throughout the summer on Church Street.

Caté has written and produced for top recording artists such as reggae singer Maxi Priest and Lee ?Scratch? Perry, and toured with Grammy-winning gospel singer Shirley Ceaser. He has also performed at the Blue Note and at Lincoln Center.

With conscious lyrics, soulful singing and deep grooves, Caté?s debut CD, ?One Funky World,? drew comparisons to Curtis Mayfield and Sade. His latest CD, ?Groove Life,? is a journey into late-night lounge sounds, blending elements of funk, jazz, house, spoken word and Brazilian music to create a fresh and unique sound all his own. It has given him a worldwide audience in England, Japan, Switzerland, Italy and Asia.

Caté will be performing on Saturday, November 5, at The Village Quill, 106 Franklin Street, Second Floor. Show times are at 8pm and 10pm. Tickets are $15.
