The Alden B. Dow Museum of Science & Art will host works from this national competition, open to all artists in United States and Canada. Pastels can be traced back to the 16th century. A galaxy of famous artists - Delacroix, Manet, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Whistler, Cassatt, just to name a few - used pastel in finished works. Coordinated and juried by Great Lakes Pastel Society.
