Grant Park Music Festival: Toumani Diabaté: Kora Music from West Africa August 11, 2010

The world-renowned kora (a West African harp) player from Mali performs an adaptation of his recent album along with the Grant Park Orchestra. Nonesuch records, which released Diabaté's album, declared that he has “learnt from Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix, yet remains entirely true to the kora player’s Mandé griot tradition.”
