The Grand Street Community Band would like to invite you to join us for our 2010 Spring Concert. We'll be playing several pieces to get everyone in the mood for the hot summer just around the corner. Featured works include "Symphonic Dances from West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein and "Jupiter" by Gustav Holst. We will also perform "Casey at the Bat" by Randol Alan Bass which features the famous poem of the same name by Ernest L. Thayer.
The performance will be held at the Grand Street Campus High School Auditorium at 850 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Sunday, May 23rd at 3pm. Take the L train to Grand Street. Free/$10 suggested donation. Website is www.grandstreetband.org
The Grand Street Community Band was founded in February 2008 with a goal to provide adult musicians with a venue to make music. We are an all-volunteer ensemble made up of individuals from all professions and walks of life. The band strives to perform quality literature at the highest level possible in order to provide our audiences with an opportunity to have an aesthetic experience. We aspire to bring the enjoyment of concert band to the community.
