Grand Marshall Chosen for The 12th Annual Latino Heritage Parade in Pasadena October 9, 2010

Sonia Marie De León de Vega, music conductor and founder of the Santa Cecilia Orchestra has been chosen to be the Grand Marshal for the Twelfth Annual Latino Heritage Parade on Saturday, October 9, 2010. Santa Cecilia Orchestra is the only orchestra in the nation with a specific mission to take classical music to the Latino Community.

Taking place at 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, October 9th, 2010, the Parade participants reflect traditional folkloric costumes, customs and historical traditions. The diversity of the community will be reflected in the performances and presentations. Dancing traditions from Armenia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, the Philippines and the Pacific Islands will take place; all have contributed to or have close ties to Latino culture.
