Thirteen of LA’s most prestigious cultural organizations have joined together to present the 4th Annual Grand Avenue Festival, a one-day street festival taking place on Sunday, September 30 from 11am to 5pm that showcases an outstanding array of music, dance, theater, art, and flavors of Downtown restaurants on the cultural corridor of Grand Avenue, between Temple and 5th Streets in Downtown Los Angeles. Experience the sights, sounds and tastes at the cultural heart of Downtown LA as theaters, concert halls, museums, and other attractions along Grand Avenue join together and offer a free and unbeatable day of entertainment.
Highlights of the Grand Avenue Festival include:
• Musical performances inside Walt Disney Concert Hall
• Dance at the Colburn School
• Free admission, guided tours and art-making at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA)
• Caricature artistry at REDCAT
• Art-making on the Music Center Plaza
• LA Sister Cities official international student welcome ceremony
• Plant Doctor, offering free one-on-one gardening advice in the Walt Disney Concert Hall garden.
• Family musical programs at the Los Angeles Public Library
• A drum circle and flute choir along Grand Avenue
• A Taste of Downtown – where the neighborhood’s finest restaurants will provide their culinary delights for a nominal fee
• Other participants include the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels, Center Theatre Group, Grand Performances, LA Opera, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Downtown Center Business Improvement District, and special guest the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County
Most performances and events are free; tickets may be required for some venues.
