Former principal dancer for Martha Graham Dance Company works with youth and adult students teaching Graham’s dance technique.

WHO
Peter Sparling, former principal dancer with Martha Graham, has taught Graham's powerful and deeply expressive movement technique for over 30 years.

WHAT
As part of a year-long celebration of Graham's legacy, he will present two master classes at Dance Gallery, offering an introduction to Graham Technique for both youth ages 8+ and older dancers ages 15+. Principles of the contraction and release, the spiral, and a sense of movement originating from within the body will be explored.

Graham Technique for Youth, Ages 8+: Saturday, October 7, 2006 from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm, $10

Graham Technique for Adult, Ages 15+: Thursday, October 12, from 6:45 pm – 8:15 pm
