Graham Greenes connection with cinema began in a professional way when he became a film critic for The Spectator in the mid-1930s, and he had a lifelong interest in cinema. Many of his novels were adapted into films, some of them twice (Brighton Rock, The End of the Affair, The Quiet American), as well as some of his short stories, and he wrote original screenplays as well. A list of Greene-related films is instructive: 21 Days, The Secret of Stamboul, This Gun for Hire, The Confidential Agent, England Made Me, The Fugitive, The Ministry of Fear, Went the Day Well?, The Heart of the Matter, The Third Man, The Fallen Idol, Our Man in Havana, Travels with my Aunt, The Comedians, The Honorary Consul, The Human Factor and thats an incomplete list.
