The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing (www.gracehopper.org) October 4-7, 2006, Town and Country Resort & Convention Center, San Diego, California.
The GHC conference is the sixth in a series of conferences designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront.
Presenters are leaders in their respective fields, representing industrial, academic and government communities. Leading researchers present their current work, while special sessions focus on the role of women in today's technology fields.
Registration for the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing opens April 1, 2006.
Past Grace Hopper Celebrations have resulted in collaborative proposals, networking, mentoring, and increased visibility for the contributions of women in computing. This year's theme is Making Waves.
2006 KEYNOTE SPEAKERS:
* Shirley M. Tilghman, Ph.D. - President, Princeton University
* Sally K. Ride, Ph.D. - Former NASA Astronaut and the first American woman in space, President and CEO, Sally Ride Science, and Professor of Physics UC, San Diego
* Helen Greiner - Co-founder and Chairman of the Board, iRobot Corp.
Submissions on both technical and professional topics are welcomed. The Grace Hopper Program Committee encourages technical submissions that cross disciplines and other boundaries. Deadlines vary by type of submission, with the first on March 15, 2006.
