The fourth annual Government Open Source Conference returns to Portland Oregon with an expanded program which will include an International Open Source Summit, hosting international governments as well as US state and locals. Focus this year will be on OSS solutions in the public sector. You can subscribe to the conference mailing list for program updates, registration information on the conference web site. GOSCON 2008 Open Source Tour de Lab: Thursday, Oct 23
Oregon State University's Open Source Lab (OSL) is located in Corvallis 90 minutes southwest of Portland. Your chartered tour will take you through the beautiful Willamette Valley to visit the OSL data center and operations where many of the world's largest and significant open source projects are hosted, including the Linux master kernel. Particpants will come away with a deeper understanding of OSL and its partnership with industry and academia, the open source community and projects it supports and the operation of a world-class open-source centric data center.
