The Great American Weight Loss Challenge is Coming to Milwaukee August 3rd – 7th

WHAT:
The got milk? Great American Weight Loss Challenge is traveling to 75 cities nationwide to celebrate the success locals have seen when they’ve taken a realistic approach to weight loss that includes reducing their calories, exercising and adding 24 ounces of milk to their diet each day.

As part of the celebration and to encourage others, the got milk? campaign along with Curves International and Shape Magazine are hosting free, wellness events to help put Milwaukee on the path to weight loss success. Residents will have the opportunity to learn what more than 80,000 other people across the country already have – that one of the keys to healthy weight loss may be sitting in their fridge. A growing body of research suggests that the nutrients in milk may help you burn fat and lose weight. Studies have also found that people who drink milk are leaner than those who don't.

At events, Milwaukee residents will have the chance to:
• Meet local residents who have tried this realistic weight loss plan and seen success
• Sign up for the Challenge on-site
• Receive a free health assessment, including a body mass index reading and speak with a local registered dietitian about effective long-term weight loss strategies
• Get exercise tips from Curves fitness experts
• Sample lowfat and fat free milk from local dairies
• Pose for a Milk Mustache photo souvenir
• One lucky Area Resident will be randomly selected to win a makeover package that includes a $100 gift certificate, a one-year subscription to Shape magazine and a three-month Curves membership
