Gomarrah (Matteo Garrone, 2008) will be screened on Thursday 12th November 2009 in the Studio Theatre. The film is a 15 certificate.

Hailed by the Boston Herald as "The greatest mafia movie ever made", Gomorrah is a narrative set in modern-day Naples that recounts five separate tales of Italian gangsters in a depiction showing unquenchable thirsts for power and money. The inevitable violent fallouts from their endeavours are used in graphic measures to illustrate how their lives have been shaped. Based upon award-winning journalist Robert Saviano's exposé, the film brutally portrays the bloody world of organised crime. The film won the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes 2008 and was also a multiple winner at the European Film Academy Awards, including a prize for Best European Film.
