This professional woodwind quintet will present an afternoon concert that includes the elegance of Brahms, the folksy Americana of Aaron Copland, and the modern Latino sounds of Paquito d'Rivera. Also on the program are some popular Broadway tunes, and of course, some American patriotic music!
The Golden West Winds is a component group of the USAF Band of the Golden West, stationed at Travis Air Force Base, California. This group of highly-talented, college-trained musicians has delighted audiences throughout the western United States and has appeared on live radio and on several recordings.
This is the first tour of this group in southern California with its new musical director, Master Sergeant Lezlee Masson. It's also the first time in five years the Golden West Winds has appeared in southern California.
