Golden Trails: More Talk, Less Walk June 14, 2011

Pat and Carl Leinbach, experienced hikers and residents of Michaux State Forest, will lead a leisurely trail exploration for hikers of a "certain age" who would prefer to take time to look closely at the curiosities of the natural world. Bring your cameras, field guides and stories to share during a 1.0-1.5 mile hike over fairly flat terrain with an uneven walking surface. Water and sturdy shoes are recommended, and trekking poles, if you have them. This event is designed for older adults who enjoy socializing while hiking at a relaxed pace, rather than covering distance. The program is free but registration is required starting June 24.
