Golden Birds (formerly known as Carrier), from Berkeley, San Francisco and Los Angeles, plays urgent post-rock that combines furious guitar work, impassioned lyricism and infectious bass and drum interplay. Drawing equally from the raw energy of punk, the rhythmic tension of hip-hop, the rich textures of electronica and the intricate patterning of minimalism, the trio craft a sound that is uniquely frenetic -- and instantly addictive. Their live performance is a cathartic and sweat-soaked affair.
