The Golden Age Centers of Greater Cleveland’s (GAC) honors eight of the most influential adults in the Cleveland community at the 17th annual Golden Achievement Awards Gala on May 3, 2009.
This year’s gala, “You’re the Top,” which benefits GAC’s home delivered meal program, honors older adults who make a significant contribution to Cleveland through their professional career or philanthropic activities. Golden Achievement Awards are presented in seven areas including business, community, education, gerontology, medicine, sports and the arts, as well as an award in lifelong accomplishments.
The honorees include notable figures including Dr. Michael F. Roizen of the Cleveland Clinic, former Cleveland Browns coach Sam Rutigliano, Invacare CEO A. Malachi Mixon III, community philanthropists Stanley & Hope Adelstein, Cleveland Institute of Art professor Frances Taft, Executive Director of the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging Ronald Hill, Music Director of The Cleveland Women’s Orchestra Robert L. Conquist and E. Mandell de Windt, former chairman of Eaton Corporation.
The gala will begin at 6 p.m. at The Country Club, located at 2825 Lander Road in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
