Chicago’s Own Godfrey!
From the movies “Zoolander”, “Soul Plane” & “Johnson Family Vacation”
Recognized as the beloved “7UP Guy” from the national advertising campaign
Growing up in Chicago, he constantly got in trouble for misbehaving and being an all-around class clown. Godfrey’s Nigerian parents unknowingly encouraged his bad behavior by showing him classic comedy films from an early age. While performing impressions of his college football teammates, Godfrey realized his irreverent style of comedy might be more than just a hobby. Godfrey’s talent landed him several high profile projects. His performance in “Zoolander” has achieved cult status; he is recognized across the country as the beloved “7UP Guy” from 7UP’s national advertising campaign; and he has cracked up moviegoers in “Johnson Family Vacation”, “The Cook Out” with Queen Latifah, “Phat Girlz” starring Academy Award-winning actress Monique, and “Soul Plane”, alongside Snoop Dogg. For years, Godfrey provided pop culture commentary on VH1 as a talking head and also appeared on Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen. As one of the most dominant forces in the comedy circuit, Godfrey is in demand as both a host and a standup headliner at the nation’s premiere comedy clubs, including Gotham Comedy Club, Stand-Up NY, The Comedy Cellar in New York, and The Laugh Factory and The Improv in Los Angeles. Godfrey has performed at comedy festivals in Montreal, Toronto, and Chicago, as well as the Just For Laughs Roadshow. Godfrey is fresh off filming his fourth appearance on BET's Comicview, a guest starring role on 30 ROCK, his own half-hour special for Comedy Central under his belt, and a recurring role on LOUIE, Godfrey is clearly on the verge of super-stardom.
