Gob Iron is a unique partnership featuring Jay Farrar, formerly of the alt-country bands Son Volt and Uncle Tupelo, along with Anders Parker from the group Varnaline. The duo will perform selections from 'Death Songs For The Living,' which features very different takes on American folk standards. Also known as the "folk process," these include songs by the likes of Stephen Foster and The Reverend JM Gates which have been given new lyrics or new arrangements in an effort to re-interpret the songs. Farrar and Parker will also perform solo sets in addition the the Gob Iron material.
