Hey you guys! We're gonna turn it on, we're gonna bring you the power ... On Monday, April 27th at 10pm, Sweet & Nasty Burlesque lights up the night with GLOW, an evening of self-illuminated performances that will raise everything but your electric bill. The Burlesque Illumi-naughty will plug in, flip the switch and get lit at this incandescent burlesque extravaganza, part of the New Monday Night Burlesque at Public Assembly.
"Science has determined that light exhibits something known as a 'wave-particle duality,'" claims host and producer Nasty Canasta. "And recent research has further indicated that attaching battery-operated pop lights to a burlesque performer increases her hotness by at least fourteen percent." GLOW will feature blacklight striptease, tassel-twirling floor lamps, fluorescent fireflies, and luminous boylesque hula-hoopers for a combined hotness quotient that, according to Canasta, "will be nearly impossible, but very enjoyable, to measure."
Since 2006, Sweet and Nasty has been adding its own unique mix of glam camp, historical fact, and blatant lies to the New York burlesque scene. Sweet and Nasty currently appears on the last Monday of every month at Public Assembly, as part of The New Monday Night Burlesque. Their 700-watt April spectacular GLOW is the centerpiece of a jam-packed evening of burlesque entertainment that begins at 9pm and continues until Tuesday morning.
Don't be afraid of the dark: Bambi the Mermaid, Clams Casino, Creamy Stevens, Ferro, Jezebel Express, Madame Rosebud and host Nasty Canasta will light up the night and bare it all at GLOW, a night of illuminating burlesque at Public Assembly for one night only, Monday, April 27 at 10pm.
