GALLERIA ON THIRD announces its second collaboration with WORLD VISION. World Vision is one of the largest non-governmental organizations that helps children and families in America and around the world. GLOBAL HOPE will begin on Monday, June 4 and run through June 30, 2007 with a special reception on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at Galleria on Third (529 Third Avenue between 35th & 36th streets).
GLOBAL HOPE is an art exhibit featuring the works of famed artists such as De La Vega, Marc Tetro, James C. Leonard, Thomas Kinkade and Kamrun Nahar Monee as well as local artists who have created original works based on the idea of GLOBAL HOPE. Money raised will be given to World Vision to benefit orphaned children.
This is the second event for which GALLERIA ON THIRD has collaborated with WORLD VISION. The partnership began when Galleria’s owner saw a news feature on the deplorable conditions facing orphans in various African villages. He was moved by what he saw and decided to take action. The search for the right organization ended when he found WORLD VISION. Last November he hosted Galleria’s first event, which featured artwork from Marc Tetro. This year he has invited several local additional artists to compliment Tetro’s artwork.
WORLD VISION is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty. World Vision serves the world’s poor regardless of a person’s religion, race, ethnicity, or gender. World Vision provides hope and assistance to approximately 100 million people in nearly 100 countries including families here in the tri-state area.
