Gliterary Lunches hosts a series of events which offer a delightful combination of entertainment and enlightenment. Our events usually include a champagne reception, a gourmet three-course lunch and the opportunity to hear two award-winning authors talk about their books and inspirations. Our lunches run from 12 until 3pm.
Claire Harman is an award-winning biographer and Oxford and Columbia professor. Her biography of novelist Sylvia Townsend won the John Llewellyn Rhys prize and her biography of novelist Fanny Burney was shortlisted for the Whitbread Prize. Her last book on Robert Louis Stevenson received wide critical acclaim. Her latest book is Jane's Fame - Part biography and part cultural history, this book does not just tell a fascinating story - it is essential reading for anyone interested in Austen’s life, works and remarkably potent fame.
Acclaimed author Justine Picardie was formerly the features editor of British Vogue now writes for the Sunday Telegraph and Harpers Bazaar. She lives in London with her husband and two sons.
