Join the Glide Young Professionals Board in honoring San Francisco icons Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani at the First Annual Glide Legacy Gala on Friday, September 17 at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in the Merchants Exchange Building in downtown San Francisco. The evening’s festivities will feature the inspirational Glide Ensemble and Change Band, famed jazz guitarist Terence Brewer, and DJ KingMost with a hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres from some of San Francisco’s finest restaurants.

The Glide Legacy Gala will highlight the 45-year history of Reverend Cecil Williams and Janice Mirikitani and their tireless service and dedication to helping those in need break the cycle of poverty and dependence.

“The Young Professional Board has the tremendous honor of recognizing two of San Francisco's most passionate community heroes. Cecil and Janice's leadership during the past 45 years has been monumental,” said Mike Kim, chairman of the Glide Young Professional Board. “They have instilled in all of us a sense of service and the importance of unconditional love; for that we couldn't be more thankful. We are proud to celebrate their legacy at the Gala."

The Glide Legacy Gala will raise funds for programs of the Glide Foundation so it can continue to provide innovative and comprehensive services to the poor and marginalized in the San Francisco community.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by the Young Professionals Board,” said Reverend Cecil Williams, Glide’s Minister of Liberation. “It is most hopeful and inspiring to know that our vision has planted a seed onto this young generation of philanthropists, and it keeps on growing.”
“Their generation embodies Glide’s spirit and passion for social change,” said Glide’s Founding President Janice Mirikitani. “It is wonderful to see these young leaders stepping up to lend their resources and expertise to bring Glide’s values to their communities and be today’s architects of change.”
