For more than 20 years, Glenn Tilbrook was co-leader of the iconic UK power pop band Squeeze and is partially responsible for some of the greatest pop songs ever -- more specifically, he wrote all their melodies. By way of his first two solo albums, The Incomplete Glenn Tilbrook and Transatlantic Ping-Pong, he proved he lost none of the joyful songwriting that became Squeeze’s trademark. Along the way, picking up some excellent low-key gigs here and there, he’d welcome guests like Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis to the stage. Tilbrook loves blurring the boundary between crowd and performer by performing requests and even taking his audience for walkabouts to set up impromptu gigs. When you come out to StageOne for this show, you won’t know what to expect.
“Tilbrook continues to create melodic power pop that's buoyant, brainy and balls-out fun...Live, Tilbrook is loose, funny and unpredictable--and great at energizing a crowd.” -?Nashville Scene
“For an encore, [he] led the crowd of 100 out the door and into Iota's parking lot, where he serenaded everyone under the moonlight with unplugged versions of "Goodbye Girl" and "Pulling Mussels From a Shell." He briefly made Wilson Boulevard feel like the center of the universe.” - The Washington Post
