Give Me Peace - Art Exhibition. 140th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi 'The Apostle of Peace' is round the corner. To celebrate the occasion a group exhibition of paintings titled 'Give Me Peace'. The participating artists Shekhar Mukherjee, Chitra Singh, Biplab Rej, Sarika Singh and Vibha Maurya all present the need of spiritual peace for the present scenario of the world. The primary need for human heart is peace. In a world full of clash, turmoil, agitation the artists focuses on tranquility, peace and harmony. The subjects chosen by them invariably portray sense of repose, serenity and stillness. Aptly titled 'Give Me Peace' the paintings in exhibition reflects Hell and Hunger, Animality and Anger, Humanity and Heaven; paintings that plaintively cry out for peace. At the same time opposite to these heart rending canvasses are paintings that reflect joy in learning and realization. The artists paint with heartfelt wish for peace and serenity all around. Every human being always has a craving for the inner harmony. Artists seek out this sense of harmony within, without any pretence to draw the world outside. Art serves the universal cause of human spirit, peace, pathos and predicament. Exhibition 'Give Me Peace' spreads the eternal message of the Mahatma's life and philosophy of peace and non-violence.
