Girls in Science and Engineering Day March 20, 2011

“Girls in Science and Engineering Day” will include a variety of interactive demonstrations and hands-on activities about marine science and the Hudson River on Sunday, March 20 from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located at Pier 86 (46th Street and 12th Avenue), Manhattan.

A special exhibit called “Space Goggles” will let kids experience what it’s like to see like an astronaut floating in space.

The events are part of Intrepid’s 31-day “Salute to Women” celebration during Women’s History Month. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum is honoring women who have served our nation – both in military uniform and out – with a series of events designed to honor, educate and inspire the next generation of female leaders.
